In this work, the theoretical calculations were carried out for a heat pump assisted crystallization process. The studied method includes a heating process of mother liquor in a crystallizer for direct evaporative crystallization. R-134a is used as refrigerant. The coefficient of performance (COP), exergetic efficiency (ex), and total irreversibility rate were calculated. It was also found that the highest irreversibility value was at condenser temperature of 25oC and evaporative temperature of -15oC. It was also found that the salt concentration in a slurry solution (X D ) inside a crystallizer increases as COP increases.
